What are the top priorities for your wedding?

When my daughter Natalie got engagged I wondered where to start this process of planning a wedding? I asked her to think about the things that were most important to her. Then I asked her to write them down so I knew how to budget. It also helped me understand if I had to do one thing that was most important to her I knew what it was. I also asked her what was least important. I made a list and here it is for you to help you in your planning process or to make sure you are on track.

Place a number of importance next to the item

_____ Beauty Health and Fitness

_____  Bridesmaid Dresses

_____  Cake

_____  Catering

_____  Ceremony Site

_____ Decorations and Rentals

_____  Flowers

_____  Honeymoon

_____  Invitations

_____  Music / Entertainment

_____  Photography

_____  Professional Services

_____  Reception Center

_____  Transportation

_____  Tuxedos

_____  Videography

_____  Wedding Gown

I didn't know before I asked Natalie and I thought it was funny that her list was    1. wedding gown   2. wedding gown   3. wedding gown. That helped me know what mattered most - didn't it!

What's top on your list?  What are you going to do to make this day unique to you?

England Wedding at Penshurst Place

BrideAccess Blog, You May Kisss the Blog

With the Olympics going on right now, London is in the spotlight!  I thought it would be fun to feature a few weddings in magnificent England.

Here is a brilliant wedding done by Steve Fuller- an amazing photographer who sent me notes about the special day of Hannah and Luke:

"A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure in photographing the Kent Wedding of Hannah and Luke at the stunning venue of Penshurst Place.

This is somewhere I am very familiar with having worked here before as a documentary wedding photographer, and am lucky enough for them to have me down as one of their recommended photographers.

It’s probably one of my favourite venues in Kent for photographing weddings.  As well as boasting vast and beautiful gardens, it has an abundance of character both inside and out, the highlight of which is the breathtaking baronial’s hall dating back to 1341.

Hannah and Luke approached me last year to photograph their big day and were keen on my approach to document the day as it happens with no intervention aside from a small handful of group shots, and this suited me down to the ground!  Come the day, Hannah and the girls got ready in the Leicester Arms Hotel in Penshurst Village, and with the day forecasted for heavy rain, things weren’t looking hopeful for and shots around the grounds, although Hannah being organized as she was, brolleys were on hand!  Amazingly though the weather held out, and after a lovely ceremony in the upstairs Sunderland Room where Luke and Hannah couldn’t take their eyes off each other, we all headed outside.

A wander around the gardens followed and with the overcast skies producing some great soft diffused light, informally photographing such a laid back happy couple was a pleasure.  Back into the baronial hall for the wedding breakfast, emotional and hilarious speeches, topped off by a first dance and cracking band made for a special day!
