Pointe Digital's advice when hiring a Videographer and Photographer

A few years ago when Matt and I were married I didn't even know about videographers. I wasn't in the wedding industry and had no idea the value of hiring a videographer.  (I know--Dah!!) I thought they put pictures together from your past and made a little highlight video for you to play at the reception.  I didn't know they come and film your whole wedding day and then put that on a video for you! So, my only heart ache from my wedding day is I didn't hire a viedographer!  I love to highlight our videographers on BrideAcess because I want to get the word out, so you don't have any regrets. Many of you are probably getting married really soon, so this is a shout-out to consider a videographer.

I asked Doug from Pointe Digital if he could send me some advice to give you. They do both videography and photography. The whole package! I thought his advice was great- so here it is with a video just done last week and some awesome photos from Pointe Digital Photo and Video. Enjoy!

"When hiring a photographer and videographer, it's important to know before hand if they work well together.  Obviously, we work well together, mainly because we all really care about each others work.  We have two photographers and two videographers and we all work well together.  If you decide to go with another company for video and a different one for photo, I cannot tell you enough the difference it will make if they have already worked together and have respect for each other.  If you hire your photographer first, ask them who they would recommend if you aren't going to be using the same company to do the video  and vice versa if you hire your videographer first.  Imagine the difference if they have worked together several times before...or even hundreds of times as we have.  The difference is very noticeable.

Referrals - Ask your friends who they used for their weddings.  What they liked and didn't like.  Who they would recommend.  What they wished they would have done and also what they wish they wouldn't have done.  By checking with a few friends, chances are you're going to find out some really helpful things.  You might even find out about us.  This past year, even with all the advertising we do, 77% of the weddings we do are from referrals.  Something to think about."
